Dental Association wants review of children's dental care

The dental association is calling for a review of children's dental care, saying there are too many kids waiting in pain in the public system. Thousands of children are waiting months with serious, often painful conditions, to see specialists or to have surgery. They included a Whangarei toddler with a condition that made her teeth susceptible to decay who was sent home with rotten teeth and an abscess. Her parents were told it would be five months until she could be treated and to use Pamol and antibiotics in the meantime Reporter Rowan Quinn asked Dental Association president Bill O'Connor what he thought of Ivy's case
