Medal to be awarded today to our first known war service dog
A posthumous medal will be awarded today to this country's first known dog to serve in war. Ceaser, a bulldog, will be awarded the Blue Cross medal for service and bravery during the First World War. The ceremony will take place at the National Army Museum in Waiouru this morning. Windsor Jones from the museum says Ceaser started his military career as a mascot, but soon became a Red Cross dog.
