Killer App wins Gold award for innovation

A killer app has turned to gold for a young start-up company. Pest control company, Squawk Squad, has just won gold in the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards which recognises innovation in business in the region. The company which was dreamed up in a brainstorming session at a KickStart event a couple of years ago, combines social media, youth outreach and cutting edge technology to trap and kill predators in the wild. Project lead, Oh-wine John says the for-profit business makes money by helping people do something good for conservation, biodiversity and the environment. He spoke with business reporter Nona Pelletier.
