Forty years ago there were hundreds of orchardists in the Auckland region, today there are just four. Graham Jensen is one of them. He has been growing at Coatesville for 42 years. Urban sprawl and changing weather, cooking and shopping habits have all put pressure on his business but, for the moment, he'll continue to put out the PYO sign at the weekends and stock his roadside stall with apples and pears.
