PauaCo in Kaikoura has donated 400 kilos of paua worth $25,000 to a local marae which has opened its doors to people in the town. Audio

Scott McKenzie is the captain of one of the four NH90 helicopters that have been sent to evacuate people from Kaikoura. What the quake has done to terra firma is incredible, he says. Audio

Tourists, including children and a heavily pregnant woman, have been evacuated from Kaikoura. But one Belgium tourist says the government's response looks bad compared to the Chinese's. Audio

Sixty Chinese nationals were among the first tourists to be evacuated from quake-hit Kaikoura. They left on helicopters paid for by the Chinese consulate. Audio
