Tairāwhiti state of emergency lifts, but slips still a risk

The heavy rain may have subsided and the state of emergency has been lifted in Gisborne, but authorities say landslides and slips are causing a second wave of problems.

Torrential downpours saturated the city yesterday and the forecast predicts it won't be letting up just yet.
