Water levels have fallen in Marlborough, revealing the extent of the damage caused by heavy rain over the weekend.
As the scale of the destruction is assessed, residents in cut off areas are waiting to hear when the roads will be reopened.
Waka Kotahi says just one highway at the top of South is still closed part of State Highway 63.
