Tornado threw containers like matchboxes - Ports of Auckland

From Checkpoint, 6:20 pm on 21 June 2021

Ports of Auckland have started the clean-up of its freight container hub in Wiri, three days after a powerful tornado killed a man and injured two others.

The port says the freak storm threw containers around "like matchboxes".

It could take more than a week for the site to be fully operational again, causing even more delays to the already struggling industry.
