Simon Morris reviews two movies, both starring Amy Adams, that are being tipped for Oscar nominations: Nocturnal Animals, a romantic, noir-ish tale of betrayal and revenge and Arrival, a twist on First Contact with extra-terrestrials. And Dan Slevin talks to David Mackenzie, director of the acclaimed Hell or High Water.

Nocturnal Animals, a new film by former top fashion designer Tom Ford, juggles three narratives about success, violence and revenge. It stars Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Arrival is a film about first contact with aliens, and problems in translation - with them, and between us. Also starring Amy Adams, and directed by Denis (Sicario) Villeneuve.

And Dan Slevin talks to director David Mackenzie about his highly acclaimed modern western, Hell Or High Water.
