AT THE MOVIES #910    PICK YOUR REMAKE CAREFULLY

Simon Morris is unimpressed with some remakes of some popular favourites.  He looks at the latest Marvel Comics epic, a talky piece elevated by the casting, and socialite Jemima Khan’s first movie as a screenwriter.

Women talking sets nine top performers in a discussion piece inspired by a true, confronting story set in a reclusive religious community.  Features Rooney Mara (The girl with the dragon tattoo), Frances McDormand (Nomadland),  Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose) and Claire Foy (The Crown).

Marvel Comics’ Antman and The Wasp;  Quantumania is a mouthful to say.     But is it a challenge to watch too?  Stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer taking an eye-watering trip into the Quantum Realm.

And ex-journalist Jemima Khan taps into her experience in the UK and Pakistan.  In What's love got to do with it? she asks if arranged marriages have a better hit rate than the casual western dating scene?  Stars Lily James (Downton Abbey) and Dame Emma Thompson.
