AT THE MOVIES #875 LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU
Simon Morris looks at three movies with the modest ambition to simply entertain an audience. They include an established franchise, a genre picture blending horror and comedy, and an old-fashioned adventure-romcom.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore continues J K Rowling's prequel to the Harry Potter series. Starring Jude Law, Mads Mikkelson and Eddie Redmayne.
X is a horror pic in which an adult movie shoot goes bad. Mostly shot around Whanganui, it stars Martin Henderson (My life is murder), Mia Goth (Suspiria) and Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect). Directed by Ti West (The house of the Devil).
And The lost city stars Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as a romance novelist and her cover model, caught up in a real-life adventure. Co-stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter).
