At The Movies - Take it to the bank

Simon Morris tries to explain the difference between making good movies and running a bank. Hint: it’s got something to do with taking big risks. And he looks at three films that illustrate the point admirably.

Featured this week – Doctor Strange, the strangest Marvel Comics movie yet, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Rachel McAdams.

I Daniel Blake is British director Ken Loach’s - he says - last movie.  The story of a sickness beneficiary’s struggle with the system won Loach the Palme D’Or in Cannes this year.

And Hell Or High Water is a modern western about two brothers being robbed by the banks, and returning the favour.  Starring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine and Ben Foster.
