AT THE MOVIES #648 – MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS

Simon Morris looks at three films, all about memory in one way or another.  The new Ghostbusters are fighting fans of the old film – as well as some unattractive modern-day sexism.  Anne of Green Gables taps more successfully into good old nostalgia.  And Remember sets a former inmate of Auschwitz after one of his captors, at the same time wrestling with his own advancing dementia.

Featured this week – Ghostbusters with a new all-female set of spookhunters, including Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wiig.

Yet another version of old-time favourite Anne of Green Gables, featuring Martin Sheen.

And Remember stars Christopher Plummer as an aging avenger, out to find the last surviving guard of the Nazi death camp that killed his family.
