50 years since the Ford Mustang was first unveiled

The original vehicle came complete with carpet, bucket seats and a six-cylinder engine. In the five decades since, the Mustang has evolved - but the appeal of the quintessentially cool American car has never waned. Ford estimates the Mustang to have made hundreds of film appearances. Celebrations have already started in America - one at the Las Vegas speedway and the other in Charlotte North Carolina.
