A seaside settlement on a picturesque white sand spit attached to the Coromandel Peninsula. It's a new, modern tourist town with fewer than 350 permanent residents but around 17 hundred baches or holiday homes. During summer it swells with up to 7,000 people out and about on the beaches and golf course. A deep water harbour is at the centre of this aquatic playground.
