50+ Kapa Haka

From Afternoons with Jesse Mulligan, 2:21 pm on 11 September 2013

Most of the members of Te Taikura o te Awa Tupua kapa haka group are over the age of 50, ... a few are in their 80s. The Whanganui-based group, who get together once a week to practice, are in demand for performances at community events. Morvin and Kura Simon started the group a few years ago and it keeps going strong. The Simons were named in The Queen's Birthday Honours for their work with kapa haka groups over the past 50 years.
