First Cook Strait Crossing by aircraft

From Afternoons, 2:22 pm on 26 August 2013

August 20 marked the 93rd anniversary of an aviation milestone in New Zealand. On this date in 1920, decorated World War One pilot Euan Dickson flew an Avro 504K biplane from Christchurch to Wellington, becoming the first person to fly across Cook Strait. Errol Martyn is an aviation historian and he is on the line from Christchurch.
