Auckland Story for 5 June 2013 - Puhoi 150th

The tiny north Auckland community of Puhoi is this month celebrating its founding 150-years ago, by a boat load of settlers from Bohemia, which is now part of what is the Czech Republic. After four months at sea, the first boat load arrived in New Zealand in June 1863, and they were all a bit shocked by what they found.
