Ohau Point seal pups

From Afternoons, 2:07 pm on 22 April 2013

Ohau Point, thirty kilometres out of Kaikoura, is home at this time of year to thousands of new seal pups. Geography and man-made changes to the landscape have formed a spot which, by happy accident, is the perfect breeding and frolicking ground for seals. Local conservation ranger, Mike Morrissey, is one of the team determined to keep the spot open to the public, so everyone can enjoy the unique opportunity to see a seal colony up so close.
