Your Place - Mataura

Thirteen kilometres south-west of Gore and 53 kilometres north-east of Invercargill, Mataura is a small community on the eastern fringe of the Southland Plain. It's a village which once had almost 2500 inhabitants and was one of our first truly industrial townships. But ease of modern transport has seen it shrink in size to just 1500 in recent years.
