Our Changing World - Snap of Chocolate

If you're eating good quality chocolate this Christmas, you've probably noticed that it makes a sharp, crisp sound when broken, otherwise known as "snap". While snapping chocolate is an indicator of quality, it is a rather subjective test, so at the University of Auckland, fourth-year engineering student Sharon Ngu and supervisor Bryony James have been trying see whether the snap of chocolate can be quantified.
