American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise

The massive aircraft carrier has starred in the movie 'Top Gun' and played a role in the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, the Vietnam War and the first strikes on Afghanistan after September 11. Dunedin doctor Dave McKay has visited the ship at sea and in port, studied its history and has been granted permission to write a book about it.
