Gallipoli hero to have street named after him

From Afternoons, 2:22 pm on 16 August 2012

A Gallipoli hero who created one of the most enduring images of the First World War will have a street in Hamilton renamed in his honour. Sapper Horace Moore-Jones landed at Anzac Cove in April 1915. His job was to sketch the landscape and plans of Allied and Turkish positions, but one of his most famous works was one of medic Private John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey helping the wounded from the frontline to the beach. He died after the war saving lives in a hotel fire. Theatre of the Impossible Charitable Trust (TOTI) is campaigning for the name change.
