Bomber Memorial book
Many of the New Zealand men who flew bombing operations during the Second World War are no longer alive. One of those was Flying Officer Graham Arthur Avery, DFC, who passed away in 2004 - he was a navigator for 106 Squadron, Lancaster Bombers, flying more than 30 trips over Europe in 1944 and 1945. Now his son, Basil Avery, is drawing on masses of information he's accumulated from letters, log books, and interviews with his dad to write a book about his father's experiences.
