Great Songwriting

From Afternoons with Jesse Mulligan, 2:12 pm on 21 May 2012

Great songs can define a generation and may punctuate special moments in our lives, but it's not just about the music... lyrics are the meat of most music. If the words don't hit the right note, the song will be a flop. Professor Pat Pattison is a professor of songwriting at Boston's Berklee College of music. He's written books on the art of writing lyrics, and worked with Grammy-winning artists to help them find the right words. Pat is in NZ for a series of seminars for the Music and Audio Institute of NZ, and is holding a masterclass tonight in Auckland.
