Colin Hardie remembered

From Afternoons, 2:10 pm on 4 May 2012

Colin Hardie was the general manager of the Christchurch Star when he and his wife boarded an Air France Flight in Athens bound for Paris on June 27th 1976. Four terrorists hijacked the plane and it ended up in Entebbe Airport, Uganda. Israeli Commandos raided the airport, three hostages were killed, the rest were freed. Hardie kept a record of what was happening during the ordeal and wrote about it for the Star. He died this week at the age of 91.
