Southern Story for 22 March 2012 - Hakatere

From Afternoons, 3:10 pm on 22 March 2012

Hakatere Conservation Park is one of our largest - 60,000 hectares of mountain, tussock, rivers and lakes between the Rakaia and Rangitata rivers in South Canterbury. In 2007 the Department of Conservation assumed the mantle of protection and restoration of the park, but they're not alone. The Hakatere Heritage Buildings Committee set up in 2010 to 'preserve the history and flavour of the high country'. Sage Forest meets with David Howden of the committee Park's gateway.
