Fifty years ago this Friday, Peter Snell set his second world record, this time in Christchurch, one week after running the world's first sub-four minute mile at Cooks Gardens in Wanganui. Sir Peter Snell lives in Texas now, and his doctors have advised him not to make the journey to New Zealand for the commemorations. But one man who has come is the runner who came second to Snell in the Cooks Gardens race - British athlete Bruce Tulloh.
