There's a long, hot, dry summer on the way thanks to a returning La Nina weather pattern. The UN Security Council has voted unanimously to lift the no-fly zone over Libya on October 31 and end its authorisation of military action to protect civilians. West Auckland and rural ratepayers are better off under a new Super City rating system, which will see residents of the North Shore, Howick and the old Auckland City facing big increases. Hundreds of pupils at St Pat's town in Kilbirnine will be spending their lunch breaks in compulsory study sessions until next Tuesday, after they attended the All Blacks' Rugby World Cup victory parade in Wellington.
