Ten-year-old Alex Leckie-Zaharic has won the Dunedin schools scrabble competition. He is also the youngest player ever to compete in the New Zealand National Scrabble Tournament, where he was up against 80 players from around the country, most of whom were at least 30 years older than Alex. He won three awards, including an invitation to the World Youth Scrabble Championships in Malaysia in December.
