Your Place - Franz Joseph

Franz Joseph is on the South Island's west coast. At its back door are the spectacular Southern Alps and a glacier that dates back fifteen thousand years to the last ice age. In 1931 St James Anglican Church was built to take advantage of the panorama through its altar window, but by 1954, the glacier had retreated from view.
