Dominion Road

Dominion Road begins near Upper Queen Street in Auckland and continues in a straight line for almost 6 kilometers through the suburbs of Mount Eden, Balmoral and Mount Roskill. The Auckland City Council is considering widening a 4.5km stretch of the road, to make way for separate bus and cycle lanes. The changes would also remove on street parking. Some residents say that will change the street forever. A coalition of neighbours has started a petition and a Facebook page to save Dominion Road.
