Environment story - Biotron

Its a new tool that's helping scientists unravel the secret underground life of plants. Traditionally, soil scientists such as Leo Condron and Stuart Larsen from the Bioprotection Research Centre have had to dig up plants to study their roots. Now the New Zealand Biotron is letting them spy on roots to work out how they're interacting with the soil.
