A report set to be released by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority has connected hundreds of annual deaths with pollution from gas stoves.
The research has also linked more than 3200 yearly childhood asthma cases with the use of gas stoves in the home, as well as hundreds of hospitalisations for respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
Dr Lucy Telfar-Barnard, senior research fellow at Otago University's Housing and Health Research Programme spoke to Jesse.
