Making Aotearoa the kindest nation on earth

Kindness isn't just a word for Sarah Page, it's a calling.

With her unique charity The Kindness Collective, Sarah is working to make New Zealand the kindest country on the planet.

In order to carry out 100 acts of kindness around Aotearoa in the coming year, Sarah is crowdfunding to raise $100,000.

Sarah launched The Kindness Collective as a community group back in 2014, keen to repay the kindness she'd received from Women's Refuge.

"It was just me personally rallying my friends and family to do practical things in the community that I could see actually did make a difference."

The Kindness Collective is now a charity backed by a group of people, brands and businesses committed to delivering kindness, in whatever practical form that can take.

While bigger New Zealand charities are doing well with providing support, Sarah says, there are still many gaps and unmet needs in New Zealand communities.

To address these, The Kindness Collective takes on projects big and small - from providing food donations and pyjamas to organising working bees in the community.

Currently, they're building a community garden for a school in Avondale to help feed the West Auckland community and a community library in Manurewa.

You can support The Kindness Collective here. (Until 12 August, all donations will be matched by Cadbury)
