Cochlear implant revolution by PhD candidate at Canterbury Uni

From Afternoons, 1:17 pm on 6 August 2021

Cochlea implant technology is set for a revolution using a new method of detecting sound.

If all goes to plan, the design will change and hearing will be of a higher quality.

Working on the device is PhD candidate at the University of Canterbury, Tom Maslin.

His work has made him a finalist in the KiwiNet Research Commercialisation Awards 2021, competing for the Momentum Student Entrepreneur prize. He talks to Jesse about his work.
