From farming to ice skating - The family behind the Paradice rinks

From Afternoons with Jesse Mulligan, 1:25 pm on 5 August 2021

Ice skating has undergone a revival of sorts in the past few years, with rinks popping up across the country for winter festivals and events.

The Blong family in Auckland is behind those rinks, and their love of ice goes back three generations when former farmer Ross Blong founded Paradice ice rinks in the 70s.

He's now retired, and his kids and grandkids are carrying his legacy on.

Ross Blong talks to Jesse about making the transition from farming to ice-skating.
