A community charity group is fighting plans by a religious trust to sell off St David's Church in central Auckland.
Also known as the Soldier's Memorial Church on Khyber Pass it was paid for and built as a living memorial to the lives lost in WW1.
The Friends of St David's are pleading with the Presbyterian Trust to withdraw the block from sale so it can be repurposed. Paul Baragwanath is the Chair of the Friends of St David's Trust, and explains the situation to Jesse.
