For the first time, Nadia Reid and Tiny Ruins' Hollie Fullbrook are getting ready to perform together on a tour of the country.

The pair talk to Jesse Mulligan about their plans and play 'Dominion Road' by The Mutton Birds, which Hollie calls "a bit of a love song for Auckland".

Nadia and Hollie lived together in Titirangi in 2017, Nadia says.

"It was like the best year of my life ... We spent most of our time just talking. We'd get up in the morning, have a coffee, and we'd just talk for hours and hours about everything."

Hollie says she was really grateful for that time.

"To have another woman who was doing a similar thing to me, it was so beneficial to be able to spend time with Nadia."

Last year, Hollie played Tiny Ruins' 2019 album Olympic Girls Solo overseas but hadn't yet played it at home.

"When Covid happened it felt like it would be really nice to go out in force with someone else and kind of share it."

After a "really intense time", Hollie says she feels quite emotional and nervous" about touring.

"Just hearing our voices together and hanging out with Nadia is a real joy for me."

At the Reid & Ruins shows, Nadia and Hollie will play separate solo sets and a few songs together including some covers.
