Nga Taonga Sound Archives: First flights over Cook Strait

Yesterday saw the 100th anniversary of the first ever flight across Cook Strait.  

It was marked by a recreation of that flight, which was from Christchurch to Trentham in the Hutt Valley, on the 25th August 1920.  

In today’s visit to the Sound Archives of Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision Sarah Johnston will play us recordings of that and other historic Cook Strait crossings.
