Yesterday the Minister of Education Chris Hipkins announced a major funding boost for apprenticeships and trade training programs. The funding is part of the package announced in the 2020 budget and the first wave of funding is targeted at getting people into trade training by removing financial barriers.
It's a welcome boost for an industry that has been crying out for new recruits. Warwick Quinn is the Chief Executive of the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation.
