This weeks' critter is the spotted black grouper, a territorial reef fish that is protected in New Zealand waters. This fish can reach lengths of 2m and at least 80kg in weight (that’s human-sized!). The small fish are mostly female, but when they reach 100-110cm in length they become males!!!
