A planned new stadium in Christchurch was promised two hundred and twenty million dollars yesterday by the government. Plans for a new stadium in the garden city have been underway for years and there is a real sens of urgency coming from local politicians and Christchurch's sporting organisations.
But Christchurch journalist and former political candidate James Dann wonders if the grand plans for a new stadium may be based on hope, rather than attendance figures.
