Crimes NZ: David Dougherty's wrongful conviction

From Afternoons, 2:31 pm on 27 February 2020

David Dougherty was convicted for the rape and abduction of an 11 year old girl in 1993. The problem was he didn't commit that crime. It took a trio of a lawyer, scientist and journalist to get him freed as well as compensated for the time he spent in prison. Donna Chisholm was the journalist as the centre of the campaign. She talks through what happened and how she got involved in a cause, which wasn't seen as very popular at the time.
