Approaching male mental health in times of personal crisis

Hannah Baxter and her three children have died after Hannah's husband Rowan Baxter allegedly doused the car in petrol. He later died from self inflicted stab wounds.  

Half of all women homicide victims over the age of 18 in New Zealand are killed by a partner or ex-partner. Every time we hear a story like this it shocks us and the call goes out for something to change. But does it, and what has been tried in the past. 

I'm joined now by the Programme Leader of the Post Graduate Violence and Trauma programme at AUT and founder of the Man Alive counselling organisation Warwick Pudney.
