Vape manufacturers follow Big Tobacco playbook

One in three year 10 students in New Zealand have tried vaping according to a recent national survey. This is despite a growing list of deaths and lung illnesses linked to it.

It's just history repeating itself says Sarah Milov, an associate professor who specialises in Big Tobacco.

The makers of vaping products are following the Big Tobacco playbook. She writes about the many ways a product known to cause health problems became a global addiction in her book, The Cigarette: A Political History.
