Why the rules need to change around benefits and relationships

A report released last week called on the Government to immediately change the way a relationship is defined by the welfare system.

Currently your benefit can be cut if you get in to a relationship with someone who earns over a certain amount. Writer Sarah Lin Wilson wrote a piece on this subject, saying this can have serious consequences for people. 

Susan St John from the Child Poverty Action Group agrees the rules are confusing. She joins us to explain why.
