Crowdfunding campaign frees Aboriginals jailed for unpaid fines

From Afternoons, 1:29 pm on 28 January 2019

In Western Australia there's a law that if you cannot pay your fines, you go to prison.

According to the group Sisters Inside - single aboriginal mothers make up the majority of those in prison for not being able to pay their fines - so they've started a crowd funding campaign to pay the fines so the women can be released and reunited with their children

Debbie Kilroy is the Chief Executive of Sister's Inside.
