Diabetes sufferers stigmatised

A quarter of a million Kiwis have been diagnosed with diabetes, and a new study has revealed many of them face prejudice and stigma everyday. 

Some are discriminated against at work, others are judged for what they eat, and even for injecting crucial insulin shots they need. 

The report by Diabetes New Zealand is the first time stigma has been studied in the country. CEO Heather Verry is here to tell us more.
