Central Otago airport tension

From Afternoons, 1:15 pm on 3 October 2018

The Queenstown airport has decided not to go ahead with expansion after the public had their say. Submissions were heavily against the extension and the airport says it's listening to the community.

It's another example of the continuing tension over the need for more infrastructure to cater to the annual flood of tourists into Central Otago.

The chair of the Wanaka Tourism Board Mark Morrison thinks the approach to building a system that works is to make sure everyone's on board.
